Video Editor, nuslist

Los Angeles (hybrid or remote ok) 50,000 - $70,000 Posted: Jun 03, 2026

Job Description

nuslist is building a new way to experience independent video news. We organize the best analysis from across the independent creator ecosystem into clear, structured video playlists that help audiences understand major stories through multiple voices and angles. The Video Editor will be responsible for producing Nuslist’s core video product: polished playlist compilations built from shorter clips selected from longer-form videos. The editorial curation, clip selection, story structure, and sequencing will be led by Nuslist. The editor’s responsibility is to execute quickly, cleanly, and consistently, turning curated materials into a professional viewing experience.

Requirements

This is a production-focused editing role. Nuslist will provide the editorial direction, selected clips, playlist structure, and sequencing. The editor’s role is to execute the edit with speed, polish, and consistency. You are the production engine behind our flagship product. Our editorial team handles all curation and clip selection. You receive a structured assembly of 50 to 70 pre-selected clips and transform them into a polished, professional playlist video. Your craft determines whether the final product feels like a disjointed compilation or a unified viewing experience. Speed and visual consistency are everything in this position. Core responsibilities Assemble pre-selected clips into full Nuslist playlist videos. Edit 30 to 90 minute playlist videos from a large number of shorter source clips. Follow a provided story order, outline, and editorial structure. Add consistent on-screen attribution for each clip, including creator name, channel name, and source. Apply Nuslist branding, intro cards, section titles, lower thirds, transitions, and end cards. Clean up pacing, audio levels, cuts, visual consistency, and overall presentation. Export videos in formats suitable for YouTube, website, social clips, and internal review. Turn around edits quickly, especially for timely news topics. Maintain organized project files, source files, exports, and naming conventions. Build repeatable templates so future playlists can be produced faster over time.
